April Amelia Adventure
Posted On 04/12/2010 16:45:58

We did it! We finally took Amelia out last weekend on her maiden voyage & we learned several things: don't always depend on GPS, a laptop or navigator on a Smartphone; the GPS gets confused & without a converter, the laptop & cellphone loose battery power. Also, some campground owners truly do believe they have level sites, even when the septic hose is clearly going uphill . This weekend we are going to The Grand Canyon of PA, the weekend after that Seneca Lake Wine & Cheese festival. Now that we are out & about, I will try to update the site w/ pics & funny stories. Yellowstone in June really will be the test of our engagement- I'm encouraged at our teamwork for better & for worse that last weekend tested Wish we could go to Texas to see ya'all, maybe next time.

Can you get cabin fever in a RV?

I can't stand the February month in the winter. I call it the dead zone because there is nothing going on in this month except cold, snow, cold & snow. The ever so gradual longer light days just start to happen, so that means spring will soon be here. Amelia sits in the driveway, unused & just as bored as her owners. We just can't wait until we can start the shake down's with Amelia & kayak & just plain have a blast. I can't wait to get where you all are fulltimers, in warmth & sunshine wherever you can follow it....ahhh, the thought of it.

All, You may not have realized, but we have not picked up our Winnebago Adventurer 2005 ~ named Amelia, Intra-national all wheels on the ground Adventurer ~ from the dealer yet! So, we are this Sat., even tho we have snow on the ground & I am protesting. Scott's "getting to know her" urges can't be contained. So we will pick her up & I'll let let you know how well we manage snow, two cars & a 36 ft. Class A in our driveway. Martini recipes are welcome!
