The other day, I added a new field on the Profile settings for "Social Widget". WTF is a Social Widget? Click on my profile and check my Twitter Status widget. That's what it is :)

Many of us belong to other social networking sites. If you want to build up your networks on other sites, add your info in the Social Widget area on your profile. I found the small Twitter Flash badge worked well, and I just wrapped it in
tags. Use text links, badges, whatever you got. Experiment with different widgets.

I am doing some dev work on bringing some of the social widgets together - community style, much like the Videos section and Gallery sections here. I think it would be cool to have one place to scroll through some Social badges to see what's going on.

Check it out and give it a try. Reply back here with any questions or difficulties or successes!

Very cool... love it!!

I added in the interactive flash Twitter widget to our profile - noticed that it leaves a large blank space above it. But otherwise, very cool!

I tried adding in their basic HTML one, which did not work.

Great addition to the community, Kev. Thanks!

I too played with the interactive Flash widget, but got the same results. I am sure there is a CSS conflict in there somewhere, but I didn't spend too much time trying to fix it. I may try out some others to see how they react in there.

Just had the same experience with both items. However, with the interactive Flash widget, I see that it is a Firefox conflict, but not a problem with my Web Nemesis - Internet Exploder. I will check Firebug to see if I can find the conflict. That widget is the coolest.
