Red Rock Canyon State Park, CA and Verizon Wifi

Can anyone tell me if they have had good or bad Wifi access in Red Rock State Park? The Verizon Wifi coverage map shows it as good access, but I'm wary due to the cliffs surrounding the campgrounds. We're planning to visit during the week and unfortunately need to work part of the day, so we need Wifi access.

I haven't been to Red Rock Canyon, but have been out to Jawbone Canyon, which is a BLM area just a bit southwest from Red Rock. I experienced what you are talking about - the canyon cell-blocking me. I was able to get closer to the highway and get a decent signal (on Verizon), but where I was camping it was pretty dead.

I would keep an eye on your signal as you are entering the area and try to camp where your signal is strongest. You might also have some luck with a good external antenna and a booster like the Wilson Sleek 4G.

Have fun!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Hi Kev,

Yeah, that's what we typically do, watch the signal as we get closer and hope it sticks around. :)
I've been comtemplating getting a booster as well.

Thanks for the reply!
