Question about Americana RV 5th Wheels

I've been reading a LOT of books and magazines the last couple of months (and websites), and the Americana Rv site looked like it had the best of everything.  So, I decided that I would start saving up for my down payment for their GS model (the SKP package, probably - probably the 36', I can't remember now).

My sister, unfortunately, has decided that since at one point in the past I was too trusting, since I like the Americana the best, therefore they must be con-artists who are lying about everything and the rv will fall apart the second I get it off the lot.

Does anyone here own one, or know anything about them?  They are custom-built, so therefore are not rated by rv.org.  I can't find any used ones for sale, though, so that seems a good sign (they also don't produce very many each year).

Had not heard of Americana RV till just now! It appears that they have a pretty good following, as well as support. Looks like they are actually re-branded Forest River product, which they take and modify to their specifications. The good part about that is you can tell your sister that you have two companies that have your back - Americana and Forest River :)

I found that Yahoo has a group for Americana - http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Americana5er/ The Yahoo Groups are primitive, but they are good about getting groups together. They might have some good owner perspective there.

Here are a few posts on RV.net -

Good luck in your search!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Thanks!  I joined the group, and checked out those other posts, too.

Probably should sleep at some point.  :-)

Thanks again!
