My wife and four kids are wanna be full timers. We have started the journey towards RV living full time by trying to minimalize our life. Didn't realize we had so much junk!

Welcome to NuRVers!! Can't wait to include "Welcome to the Road!!" as well!! :)

It is mind boggling how much stuff we accumulate. It is a little overwhelming when you are going through the process, but once it is done - or close to done - it is an amazing feeling! So liberating! I am sure you will find that the process and experience of inventory reduction is a satisfying one.

Check out http://www.technomadia.com/  They have done some articles on preparing for fulltime, as well as an article or two on getting rid of stuff. You might find something helpful in there.

Good luck with your preparations! Hope to see you down the road soon :)

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Wooo hoo! Congratulations! Once you see the light it's hard to go back. Start by de-cumulating and downsizing. When you see how little you need to enjoy life with, things will fall into place.

You might also want to talk to our friends Lisa and Sean Purcell, who fulltimed with their 2 young kids for almost 2 years. They just now decided to plant roots for a while but they can give you a lot of advice about downsizing with kids.

Good luck!

We're loving it with our 3 kids! Oh the junk, we took what I thought was very little (sold all the rest at auction) and we're STILL purging the RV. It's crazy.  We've been on the road over 4 months now and can't imagine stopping. It's amazing to experience and so fun to see the kids absorbing so much as we go.

Welcome. I grew up around the carnival part of the time. One thing I noticed each time was the kids were very well adjusted and usually brighter than average as well. It's more than doable :D
Bon chance,

Welcome! We've been full-timing for just over a year now. One amazing aspect of the lifestyle that we weren't expecting is living with minimal stuff. We love the sense of freedom - both on the road and from stuff. Good luck with your preparations!
