Hello everyone, I'm glad we found this site.  The more information that can be obtained from savy travelers the better.  We bought a new TT last year and started touring Texas.  We stay home during the summer months, too hot to experience some parts of our glorious state.  We hit the road in September, after the schools get started.  We live in the country but still enjoy staying in State Parks that afford us the comfort that we are use to, mainly out of cities.  Hopefully we'll see some of you folks down the road.

Happy Travels, Kenny & Carmen

Welcome to NuRVers Kenny and Carmen!! Happy you found our little spot here :)

We have been enjoying Texas more and more since being on the road. There is a lot to discover here! Angie and I are from California, and had barely been to Texas when we became Escapees in 2006. We are now proud to call Texas "home", and spend quite a bit of time here now. We LOVE the Hill Country, but for the most part, love Texans and the hospitality here.

Hope to meet up with you two down the road!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Not being sure what circumstances are keeping you in, but there are cooler places. You can hit places like Colorado, Wyoming, or the Dakotas if you wanna still be out there but in milder summer weather.  Just an idea.

Welcome to the road..   Texas is a big state with lots to explore.  One could keep busy there for quite a while.

Enjoy!

Thanks Cherie!  Hello to all and thanks for the comments.  Hey Steve, reason below why we don't leave this beautiful State.

Yes, we are in the Western region of the Hill Country and have animals to tend, summer is the worse of our problems, that and the heat keeps us close to home.  Not to mention 90 miles from the Mexican Border, summer is hard on all.  We have a guard dog but he needs a little (actually a lot) time off and out of the heat.  We should ship him to Alaska, at 20* during the winter, he loves it and cherishes every cold temperature.   For those that are curious, he's a Blackmouth Cur, born to a hog chasing champion out of Cleveland Texas.  A BIG mama's boy though but mean as sin if your not part of the pack (only three inour pack).  It's his job! (Better than chasing hogs or varmits)  We live out in the middle of nowhere and like to spend our time in the same areas, just like different views of Texas.  Davis Mountains will be our first visit this fall, mountain, deserts, hills or sea shores, we come from South Texas and fished every weekend, 4x4 fishing peeps, the Corpus Christi Area.  We really like reading everyone's comments and feed back.  I think we are goig to visit Hill Shade RV Park in the near future.  Sounds interesting and out of any large Cities.  Happy Trails!
