We are definitely "meeters". We love the community aspect of RVing and we love to get to know our neighbors. And instead of a pet, we have Bella :) She sniffs out the cool people and self-adopts herself into those families. It doesn't matter if they have kids or not. Once, we found her sitting around a campfire next door with a couple guys from Germany and their wives. She couldn't understand a word they were staying, but they were enjoying cheese and crackers together.

This morning I woke up at 8am and went out to find Matt in the living room. But he wasn't there. I look outside and he's yapping it up with some friends we had met. They had run out of coffee and he made them some and brought it over. Matt LOVES getting to know everyone. Especially older grandpa type RVers. They love him.

On the other hand, when I have stuff to get done, I can be a hermit. And like Cherie, I love to have some "private space" around my RV site. Not always possible, but I do enjoy it.

Great question Kev! :)

we're meeters, because of the kids. our three LOVE people and everything about them.  if we meet you, i apologize now but they will talk your ear off and ask all about you.  we'll pull in and the rule is they explore until we're set up.  they'll come back with reports of any other fulltimers they can find.
without the kids, we'd probably be hermits, because we have so much work to catch up on, and love just hanging out inside by ourselves. but as we've met people, we're starting to crave it!  met a quick draw shooter yesterday and wish we'd have talked to him the night before, very cool guy.
so we're hermits by nature, but meeters by circumstance and our nature is slowly changing i guess. :)

I am pretty much a meeter except now with my fibro there are just days where I just can't be one as I am just not feeling well....I do need my downtime...friends of ours in Northern WI would go to the cabin with a huge group of people and spend the entire holiday weekend in each other's hair...I could never understand that...I would go over to their place for one day and evening and that was enough! Back to my woods and not having to talk or deal with anyone else if I didn't want to.

This is something I have been thinking a lot about lately...we have been FTing just 2 months now but still in Tahoe where we've lived for the last few years. We leave here in a week and I am sad to leave my friends & nervous about connecting with people on the road...I am a hermit, but force myself to say hello to our neighbors and act friendly. Most of the time I really don't want any more than that. Unless of course they happen to be "my kind of people"! Kind of like the ones offering you your favorite beer, Kev!  Once I find these peeps then I become the life of the party...go figure

My hubby is a meeter, for sure, he meets everyone and everything & it's one of the things I love about him...he carries dog biscuits with him wherever he goes - and we don't have any pets! He is friendly, outgoing & fun and I know this will really help us on the road.

I have always surrounded myself with "meeters" it's something I really admire in a person, to be able to just put yourself out there and be genuinely interested in others.

I'm a hermit by nature (and the DW is somewhat the same), but learned to function as a meeter in my working life. When we're on the road, I need my personal time and space, but also need to have conversations with other people. I'm just not a natural conversation starter. I'd rather listen. So if I can get people to talking about themselves and their experiences, then I'll be a good listener. If they're as introverted as I am, well, then it gets harder. LOL. But fortunately, DW is better at the talking bit than I am, so we get by. In other words, it's kind of a mixed bag for us. As you can tell from my response, we're not yet full-timers. But that day will come!
