Hi folks. I’ve been reading here for a little while and justjoined. I look forward to contributing and enjoying the experience witheveryone. Lets all have a big shout out to Kev for his admin attentiveness.

The nick I use is something of a play on words with severalreferences all of which apply to my nature, my quest and my rig: a Georgie Boy “Pursuit”.

November 1999assembly of a 2000 model #2905 on a1999Workhorse P32 chassis using a1999 Chevy 454 drive-line. One previous owner, low miles, well maintained, good records, fair price.

(update: er uhm, uh, not so well maintained as I sodesperately wanted to believe. More on this as time goes on.)

I've always suspected that I’d end up in a Motor Home oneday as the wanderlust is strong here: just about every other means of doing the“on the road thing” have been done and I’ve learned from each. Thumb, touringbicycle, sedan, motorcycle, station wagon and this latest move to a 30 footClass A.

If I had already owned something that could pull a trailer Iwould probably have gotten a 5thW instead. say la vee.

I’m still an RV newbie for sure but it feels like a goodfit.

Part of the penance for the rushed buy decision I had to doa 1200 mile “Midnight Run” dash from Florida (3/5) to the home state (for inspection,Title, visit family etc) followed almost immediately by a 3000 mile across thecountry run to the Central Coast of California and other family; arriving 3/20.

After ten days ofboondocking in/near San Luis April and May was insanely busy (good therapy forme) doing the planned repairs and some interior mod’s. But every single step of the process took far longerthan expected and cost more too.

The bad soft spot in the bathroom has become a completelynew room with al arger shower than most homes, the exterior window and doorsealants and gaskets are still waiting to be done as the new vinyl sheetflooring went in after removing the dinette and sofa and reconfiguring the kitchenlayout with more counter space. The occasional thought about the pettier stufflike compound and wax produces a wry smile and shake of head. Yes, I’m takinglots of pictures.

My lofty aspirations for the summer…

1) boondock as close to good fishing water as possible

2) learn about fly-fishing 3) learn e-Trade

4) read and write 5) lose weight (hike, bike, boondock food)

have yet to berealized as I drive up 99/5 scrounging parts and services and nailing down othergremlins as they appear. It may sound like I’m whining but the truth is I lovedoing this stuff.

This weeks fun and excitement was learning just how much goodsuspension and steering parts for a P32 chassis can be. But the thoughtof turning south again for a visit to Laguna Seca should give an idea of just howmuch difference the new equipment makes.

So I’m a full timer and I’ve jumped in with both feet!

Oh yeah, and I’m going toad-less too.

I’ll be back to write up some more

Welcome to NuRVers - and to never knowing what will break next! I think that is part of the fun of hanging out with other RVers - war stories about stuff that breaks, or stuff that was fixed, or stuff you are dealing with!

Hang in there. Sounds like you have some great goals for the summer. If we make it out to Cali this fall, we will give you a shout to see if our paths cross!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Hello Byran,

Welcome to the group!!!

My wife and I have been full timing for about 8 months now. We are loving the lifestyle and the adventure.

We just passed through Portland on our way to the coast. Currently staying in Manzanita, OR. Ten we will be heading north to Seattle area.

We are always looking for good boondock sites so please lets us know of any you run across.

Have fun out there and be safe.

Bryan, welcome and congrats!

Your goals sound pretty ambitious to us. Welcome to the club!

We're super frugal and have come across a lot of freebie spots, mostly in CO, CA, AZ, NM and TX. If you ever want any suggestions, let us know.

Enjoy the road and if you head out toward Colorado this summer, give us a holler, we're up near Fort Collins till fall.
