Hey all,

Last year when I was researching RV repair I found a place close to Austin that can do all of the above and has an RV park attached  Don't remember the name offhand but it was just south of Austin and had good recommendations on the RV mechanics review list.

Crestview RV is the spot near Austin referenced above.  They do have a park behind it, and it's right off I-35.  We tried to get work done there 3 years ago, and they had quite a wait.   We went with a place nearby that specializes in trailers instead, so can't recommend them one way or another. 

Watching with earnest anticipation. I'm not too far away from Austin area and I want to know as well!!

Ack... forgot to update this.  We ended up at Shamrock RV in Sequin, TX.  Avoid them like the plague!  They tried to charge me for both front axle seals and brakes when they clearly only did one.  When I asked to talk to the owner, he was mysteriously unavailable.  When I asked to talk to the mechanic, I was told he didn't want to talk to me.  I ended up settling with the receptionist and paid for parts and labor for on axle.  I wish I hadn't even done that, but we wanted to be gone.

Here in south Austin, there are two mobile RV techs that people here at the park speak highly of. RV Specialists - (512) 470-3070, and RV Technology - 512.243.9700.

The nice thing about the mobile repair people is that they come to you!  No worries about dropping off your rig and waiting forever for a repair. They come by, figure out what they need, come back and repair.

I have not had work done by either, but have called and talked to both, and have heard good things from people here in the park. Short of major chassis repairs, I would think that a mobile repair facility would be a good option for fulltimers.

Also, as mentioned at The Gathering, be sure to have a look at RV Service Reviews to see if anyone before you has had horrible experience.

Thanks for the input. I won't be going there for sure.  I wish I were a little closer to Austin so i could call on one of those mobile RV techs.  I'll bet they wouldn't come the two hours to me though.

I'm sure they would go out there, but don't think you would want to pay that travel fee :)
