Hello from Baltimore!
I'm fulltiming with my partner, two dogs, and a cat in our 2002 Cedar Creek 34CKTS fifth wheel which we pull with a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. We spend nine months a year parked while I teach at a local college but plan to hit the road this summer for a couple of months, spending time in Williamsburg, VA, Atlanta, New Orleans, and my native Texas.
I see that NuRVers will be gathering in my hometown of Gonzales, TX (go Apaches!) next weekend. So jealous! Make sure to enjoy bbq from City Market, visit the old jail, the courthouse, the Eggleston house, the museum, Pioneer Village, and drive south of town and see where the first shot for Texas independence was fired! If you are a beer drinker, it will be worth your while to travel half an hour to Shiner, home of Spoetzel Brewery, makers of Shiner Bock beer.
I'm sure I'll end up in Gonzales at home point this summer and will have to check out Hill Shade RV park.
We have a blog that catalogs our experiences as unconventional fulltimers who park more than we drive, spending winters up north and summers down south: http://rving.intodawne.com
Looking forward to learning from all of you and reading about your adventures.
