I have a number of friends who are applying to be Census Takers. It's a temp gig of about 20-40 hours a week. Pay rates vary by region (seems to be $10-20/hr) If not for their preference of hiring locals who know their community, it would seem like a pretty sweet (and interesting) gig if you were planning to be somewhere for a few months where you're already at (you have to apply at the office you'll be assigned out of).

On another note.. I'm interested to see how we, as non-locals to anywhere, fill out our census forms! Will they take nomadism into account?
