Hello everybody. This is our first post and hopefully the first of many. My name is Anton and my wife's name is Snow. We are both young in our late 20's early 30's. We currently live in a house in Chandler, AZ just outside of Phoenix with our dogs. We are new to rving and full-timing but have been looking to full-time for the past 5 years or so. We had a 5th wheel a few years ago, but unfortunately sold it. Since then we have been back and fourth on what we wanted to do and what rv to purchase. After much deliberation we realized our ultimate dream would be to full-time. So we wish to sell our house and start our full-time adventure and see this country while were still young. We are looking into workcamping and other income making jobs on the road as well as what rv to get. (5th Wheel, Class A, Bus Conversion etc.) We are looking to attend the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show this next tuesday and hopefully talk to many rver's on which rv to get and how to start full-timing. We are so excited and hope to get all the information we can so we can start off on our great adventure. I can't imagine living any other way. We don't want to live in a turn key house and watch the world pass us by. We wish to get out there see the country and experience life. We hope to learn a lot and make new friends. Hope to hear form you, can't wait to get started, and any information is greatly appreciated.

Have a blessed day/night.

Welcome to the site! You are heading down an incredible road with your plans!!

How long will you be in Quartzsite? A couple of us from the site will be there next Thursday. It would be great if you were around so we could all meet and swap stories!

This is a great time to be buying a rig. Because of the latest economic struggles everywhere, the RV market is really soft right now. There are deals to be had. First thing to do is to figure out what you need. When you go to Quartzsite, walk through as many rigs as possible. Talk to a lot of fulltimers about what they like and don't like about their rigs. Floorplan is one of the most important concerns. You will be driving it around, but most of your time is spent actually living in it. Make sure it is liveable for you guys.

There are a ton of discussions on motorhome vs. tow behind. Again, really up to your needs. I usually suggest if you have a big truck that can pull a tow behind, that would be the least expensive way to go. If you have to get a truck and a trailer, then it is a coin toss. Pick the one that works best for you. I have a motorhome and tow a Jeep, and love the setup. However, I have never owned a truck and trailer, so couldn't even begin to tell you that mine is the "best". It is the best for me, so that's what counts ;)

Hopefully we can meet up in Quartzsite! I have a couple of blog posts here on NuRVers telling about our adventures there so far. We are away right now, but will be back next week.

Welcome to the site!

Welcome Anton & Snow!

What a fantastic adventure you're setting off on.  We posted some things to keep in mind when picking out an RV for nomadic full time living..

We planned on going to Quartzsite tuesday since that's the only day I have off of work.  If any of you are going to be there tuesday we hope to meet you and go fourth with our dreams. We would have to bring our dogs. Do any of you know if dogs are allowed. Anyways thanks for all the post and support so far. Hope to see some of you in Quartzsite.

Have a blessed day / night.

Anton, Snow & the Weims, welcome! Congratulations on deciding to take those steps, and break out of convention.

You'll find some awesome people here who can throw ideas at you about fulltiming.

Jim and I took a "one year" sabbatical in 2007...and we haven't stopped yet! We did finally get a small house last year, but it's in Colorado mountains and we only go there in the summertime for now. Until we find a better reason to stay in sub-zero temperatures all winter, we'll be hitting the road to warmer climates.

Hope to see you on the road. We might make it to QZ in the coming month or so, maybe we can hook up there? I know our wild boy Wyatt Ray would love to meet your dogs!

There are a lot of dogs in QZ. They should be no problem. Be sure to bring plenty of water for them, as it is dry and dusty. Not sure that they would be allowed in the big tent, or inside any of the RVs. There is a doggy daycare place called The Animal House - that is where our dog is right now. They are pretty cheap compared to other places we have taken him.

Google "Quartzsite Animal House" for the phone number. They are located real close to the Big Tent.
