Hi,

My name is Jonathan and I am, like most on this site, a complete newbie with the rv lifestyle.  My girlfriend and I were living in San Francisco, CA for a few years in boxes.  Our apartmert was quite the box, the car, the cubicle at work, etc. and we finally had enough of it and decided to buy an RV and travel the country for a year or two.  We bought quite a clunker of an RV, a 1979 Class C.  Cheap, and we certainly learned why only once we hit the road.  We have a website highlighting those problems (http://rvdream.wordpress.com).

Anyway, we are currently working at Amazon.com in Coffeyville, KS, but not a big fan of the work.  Perhaps I haven't been broken in yet to the lifestyle.  Any other amazon.com workers give a shout!

Hi everyone!

Hi Jonathan - welcome to NuRVers! Your story sounds familiar - getting out of the boxes and into the world! Congrats on busting that move.

I think you will find a wide range of experience here on NuRVers. We have been fulltiming three years now, but have been RVing for a while. There are others on here that have been with wheels for 10 years! Others are just hitting the road, or planning on it soon. That is the great part about the group - the wide diversity.

Have a look at the Amazon thread in the Making a Living forum category. There are a few NuRVers there, including Technomadia. Be sure to hook up with them and others there.

Welcome to the site - hope we are able to meet up down the road!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Hey Jonathan!  Welcome to the road!  Chris was also living in SF before hitting the road about 3 years ago, and we frequently go back.

We're also currently working Shift 10 (night shift - Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat - plus any other time they let us come in) in Sortable Singles. We're camped up in Independence.  Where are you guys at? What shift/department?

There are apparently some other NuRVers here too .. but we've been here 3 weeks now, and haven't had time to meet up with them, as they're on exact opposite schedules.  And well, as I'm sure you are feeling too.. working 55-60 hrs weeks is exhausting!  This is our first time trying out this 'workamping' thing - quite an experience. We're normally tech consultants doing work remotely - in fact tomorrow, we're playing hookie from Amazon to take care of some real business.
