Now that we're going to be in one spot for a few months, there are all of those little things that have been piling up to take care of...repairing the stair actuator, and the busted awning strap, and the broken under-storage door latch...maybe we'll even try to track down a replacement set of bed lifts!

Anyway, I wanted to ply the collective consciousness for information, if possible:

1. Unless the lottery comes in, we won't be upgrading to a diesel pusher for a couple of years yet.  (which is a shame, considering the deals floating around out there...)  However, being underpowered sucks. Does anyone have experience with the Banks Power Pack for a gasoline engine?  Does it work?  Is it louder (I know diesel pickups equipped with Banks systems tend to be LOUD)?

2.  How about the GearVendors overdrive system? 

Hey Emmy, been following your blog and we're pretty much in the exact same boat, just not on the road yet.  We just snagged a 10 yr old Fleetwood Storm gasser and have almost exactly the same issues you do (the stair actuator cuttof switch is driving me INSANE!). 

We'll probably also be looking for a diesel in a year or two, but wanted to start with "cheap" before we sank our life savings into "nice". :S

If you're not in a hurry, I'll give you the feedback on the Banks intake in a couple weeks.  I'm about to order one for ours, I just need to make sure I get the right one... I'm having a hard time finding out if the chassis platform really is what we thought it was.  Beginning to suspect that it's not. :(

And I know what you mean about the stair actuator cutoff.  Seems like sometimes it's one way to turn the stairs off, and then it's the other.

It's a Chevy "smthng".  I'd originally thought it was a 427 (7 liter), but I'm now suspecting that it's a 454 (7.9) or maybe even a 502 (8.5).  I need to scrape about 10 years of road goop off the engine block to get some casting numbers and do some digging.  :S
