Hi all,

My name is Sean, and I will be leaving MA with my dog in a 1993 International Skoolie Bus Conversion.  We drag a 1998 Jeep Wrangler YJ behind us to be discreet on shopping adventures; although that could change if I can get the Great Dane to ride in a sidecar on a scooter. ;)  The current trip plan has us going to Virginia next week to trade a few weeks stay for some work, then a volunteer gig at a State Park.  I have always wanted to see snow on my birthday (End of July), so the destination is Mount Hood for a ski weekend, then off to Burning Man, and making our way south to hibernate in the desert for the winter.
The bus runs a WVO conversion, has solar panels on the top, and the technology minded vagabond that drives it has added all the bells and whistles to keep us entertained on the road.  I would love to meet up with other 'younger' ('older' is almost guaranteed) people that do not like to live in traditional houses, work conventional jobs, and live a life that make us happy.

Just wanted to introduce myself, and say HI!!

Cool.  Danes are great dogs.  I had one in an apartment in Atlanta when I was in college.  It's surprising to most how well such a large dog can easily adapt to such small quarters.  I'd get another one in a heartbeat. :)

Whereabouts in Virginia are you going to be?  I'm currently based in Springfield, VA, but will hopefully start my "roving" in about 3 or 4 months.

They really are great dogs.  People are always amazed at how 'little' she can make herself seem; and for an odd reason, she loves to ride and be in the bus.  We traveled the east coast in the Jeep last summer, so the bus is a mansion in comparison.

I'll be around Manassas, visiting my sister, and trading computer/web work for campsites, and hopefully volunteering in Price William Park for June, preparing for the big trek out west.

What a fabulous adventure ahead of you!

Are you already part of a camp at Burning Man?  We're organizing Camp Nomadia - specifically for us nomads, and you'd be welcome there.  At the very least, check the WWW guide and join us for Nomadic Happy Hour.

Welcome to the road!

Thanks.  I did see your other post about the camp, and I am interested.  I am virgin burner, so I am sure I will have boatloads of questions when the time gets closer.

Welcome to the road Sean! Sounds like a great adventure. Be sure to update your map location and who knows who you can run into!

I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Welcome!  Can you tell me a bit more about your awning water collection system?  How do you divert the water into the buckets?  Is it a standard RV awning, or did you design a special system?

We will probably be on your way to Burning Man, in Baker NV, if you want to stop in for a meet & greet.

yeah, I wish I had an elaborate system for water collection, but in all honesty, it's a normal tarp with a split hose on the end as a gutter that just pours into the buckets.  I would rather re-use something than purchase new, so a tarp it is.  It's still in it's construction phase, so I don't have any pics yet.  I'm open to suggestions.
