Recent trips: Holland, Barcelona, Nova Scotia.
White water rafting (eight times total til I got it out of my system - it was when I was a few years younger).
Kayaking - we carry a 2 person inflatable kayak in our RV.
Witnessing the birth of our grandchild (first one)-born Sept 2009).

In 2006 a couple who claimed we were camped in "thier campsite" stopped to ask when we would be leaving. We ended up becoming best friends and have connected many times since - on several occasions back at that same campsite and we still joke about who's going to get it.

Don't know what a social widget is. Maybe I need one and don't know it?

In July of 1999 my partner, Randy, and I decided to follow a dream, quit our jobs, put everything in storage and just take off - to points unknown.

We bought a used Class B camper van, a Roadtrek, and in June of 2000, set out for our big adventure - a year on the road.

This was to be a “once in a lifetime” experience. Or at least that’s how we referred to it until we realized it’s actually no more expensive to travel – the way we did it — than to stay at home.

Since then we’ve replaced the original Roadtrek with a slightly newer model and have had three other extended adventures, each of them 5 months in duration, as well as numerous shorter trips – and we don’t plan to quit any time soon.

A challenging hike with a good pay-off - great destination and scenery along the way.
Beach camping.
Kayaking.
Sleeping in.
Good food, beer, wine.
Friends and family who miss us when we're gone.
Meeting new people.
Old time rock 'n roll.
Dancing.

Coolest: Boondocking in big open spaces with great views.

Suckiest: Pricy RV "resorts" where we're parked so close to other RVs that we may as well be in a parking lot.
