I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Love diving in the Caribbean, hiking, hanging out with my kids.

We have met a lot of great people while on the road. We have a little folder where we keep cards and notes on many of the folks we meet. I will try to start listing them here - then get them to sign up!

I am a techNomad! Love computing platforms, GPS devices, internet connectivity on the road

I am a web geek that is free from the bonds of living in the Silicon Valley. We are traveling the US in our 2006 Monaco Knight 40PLQ while I work as an application architect/developer. My main client is Cisco Systems, and I do a lot of small projects for other clients.

We travel without much of a plan - which is how we both like it.

My kids and grand daughter, traveling, cocktails with friends

Coolest: Nature's Coast RV, Steinhatchee, FL
Coyote Valley RV, Milpitas, CA
Ft. Desoto County Park, Florida
Landa RV & Campground, New Braunfels, TX

Suckiest: RM Cummins Parking Lot, Colorado

Greetings Goombay! Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the welcome.  I am a single traveler and get out about once a month for a few days and usually a couple of month long trips a year.  I live in Jacksonville Fl.  I hope to get to one of your meer ups in the near future.

Thanks for the welcome.  I am looking everywhere for good info sites.  Hope to be out there full time within 1 yr or less.

I am from east side of San Jose.  My son worked for F5 thats the closest I have been to Cisco.

Hello,
Thanks for the greeting!!  My husband and I have been fulltimers now for just about 2 years and would would not change a thing!  We are in Tonopah, AZ and will be going over to Quartsite for the RV show in a couple of weeks, if your still around maybe we could get together and say hello?  Looks like you have spent some time in Moab, UT that is where we will be heading at the end of February!

Hey mello chick w/a hunnie - I just happen to be pretty mello w/a hunnie too! Great to have you here with us. Welcome!

Hi Kev- thanks for the welcome!  Whenever we go anyplace farther than a couple hours away we take the coach.  We'd like to eventually do this full time, but are currently tethered for various reasons.  However, we are leaving for another jaunt to Florida, hopefully today!

Thanks for the welcome! Hope to share some of our stories and read more about yours.

Thanks for the warm welcome.  :)

This winter will definitely be an interesting change for us taking the brick and mortar office mobile to merge it with the forests.  Aircard, wifi router, netbooks, and all.

We're looking forward to finding out if it's easier to locate new land owners who are looking for quality forest management by going to them and getting leads throughout our travels
versus waiting for them to find us.  I'm not sure if we'll supplement with workamping, but at any rate we're up for an adventure and ready for the challenge.

Yes, Odin- the Norse God of wisdom and war, who thinks he's a lap dog.  :D  I think having him along this winter will be an interesting twist to trying to fit everything into the Lance truck camper.  I can't wait!!  :)

Welcome to the site! Your upcoming adventure sounds interesting. Your "office" sounds quite awesome - forests around the country! Looking forward to finding out more about it.

I LOVE your dog's name! Odin is such a noble name for a 107lb bulldog.

Glad to have you here!

Hi bswitter - welcome to NuRVers! Great to have you here with us!

I see we share a love of the 80's. I am a PADI Master Instructor, although I have not taught in a while. I love many of your favorites spots too. We mostly dive Cozumel now, as we have friends there and it feels like home :)

I look forward to reading more about what you have going on!

Dear Kev,

Thank you for the comment. Great site!  I am trying to find more solo women RVers - especially more solo-pre-retirement women Rvers! Let me know about New Braunfels.... not far from my home base.

 Thanks,

 Jennifer

Hi livininmycar! Welcome to the site - it is great to have you here.

We have met a few fulltime solo ladies on the road. If I remember correctly, there is a web group - a message board or Yahoo Group. If I run across it, I will post it up.

Good luck with your preparations!  A bunch of us usually gather around New Braunfels during the winter. You are more than welcome to join us to get some ideas and/or inspiration!

Definitely don't think we could do that in a 19' footer! lol. We still own a home and will be using this for weekend getaways. I can't wait!

Hi JenniferandJosh - welcome to the site! Are you two currently trying to shrink your lives into an RV? Best thing we have ever done!!

We are actually picking up our Open Range 385 RLS on Friday July 3rd 2009!  We will be driving about 110 miles from Tulsa to OKC after we pick it up.  Used maps.google.com to give us a street view of our planned route. ;)

So no long trips for us yet.  We will be living in it while working for the next 1.5 years and then we are hoping to hit the EJECT button!

Thanks for the comment!

Hi - welcome to the site! Glad to have you here. RVers? Fulltimers? Soon to be's?

Hi kev,

We are soon to be's (that is the plan)! We sold our house last October and we have been renting. We have a gourmet spice business and we sell our products at the Fort Pierce (FL) Farmers Market. We would like to take Lucky Onion, Inc. on the road this fall. First we wanted a Class A but they are just too expensive for us right now. Then, we thought a travel trailer would work us but we think the weight of our supplies might be too much for our SUV. So, now we are researching Fifth Wheels and the trucks to haul them. Big decisions! Our friends Rene and Jim suggested we join this site for some advice and inspiration.

Kevin,  I am looking to get an amplifier/repeater for our cellulars and aircard.  I believe I read a while back that you got one.  Any suggestions/recommendations on which one might work best.  You have my email and/or cellular, either is fine.  THANKS

Ken

Finally got to put a face on the name.  Kris showed us some pics he took when he visited with you in New B Town.  We're sitting here at the birth place of our rig having a couple of upgrades done and some minor repairs.  Also had a semi blow his Trany in front of us on I-22 and a large chunk of it embedded itself in the fron end of our bus.  Thanks be to Tiffin for the repairs on that at no cost.  They said we were on our way here so they took care of it.  Unbelievably incredible people.  Safe trip to you and have a nice helping of Musaka for us.

So happy to have wheels under me again. Can't wait for the next rally so we can attend.  I'm looking forward to reading the updates.

Thanks for the welcome - I agree with a few of the other comments, seems like a lot friendlier place than some of the other forums I've visited. Busy much of the time, but I'll try to stop by as I can

02/11/2009 16:48:14

Thanks!  It seems a lot friendlier (esp. to non-retirees) than other RV sites, so I'll be on a lot.

Pleasure to find you guys too... indeed we sound like we'd have a lot of fun meeting up!  We also have ties in Florida, we're actually flying back to Florida tomorrow for a bit (Melbourne - where Cherie was when we met).

Are you guys going to Burning Man this year?  We're hosting a camp specifically for nomads :)
