I have washboard abs. They are just hidden under 50#s of laundry.

Love diving in the Caribbean, hiking, hanging out with my kids.

We have met a lot of great people while on the road. We have a little folder where we keep cards and notes on many of the folks we meet. I will try to start listing them here - then get them to sign up!

I am a techNomad! Love computing platforms, GPS devices, internet connectivity on the road

I am a web geek that is free from the bonds of living in the Silicon Valley. We are traveling the US in our 2006 Monaco Knight 40PLQ while I work as an application architect/developer. My main client is Cisco Systems, and I do a lot of small projects for other clients.

We travel without much of a plan - which is how we both like it.

Awesome new avatar! Love the bikes. Ang and I had some furry decorated bikes last BM. Fun!

thanks...yeah, we have fun with them...put the fur on years ago for BM - added more last year for the burn but then removed it to this "respectable" level  we get lots of honks along the road and everyone knows who we are!

Yo Kev, I see you are the creator of this site...NICE job my friend!!  I dig it...truly!  I like going to sites like rv.net, but i sort of feel out of place there because the old codgers get a little...well...cranky, ya know.

Great idea here. I think I'm going to stay...lol

Hey Kev - Just found this site. Great idea and nice work! I have met so very few fellow full-time travelers in my peer group and every time I do, it's a breath of fresh air. I KNEW there were more of us!

06/09/2010 15:43:56

Thanks, Kev - I have been looking at the 3gstore.com at the EVDO cards and think that we will each get one as I am sure with working we will go through 5g's pretty quickly.

I also saw on another page that you went to BM - we are fellow burners as well!

I want to start a blog but have no idea how to start or even where to do it - any hints??

Thanks

Hi Kev - thanks for "friending" me!!  See that you are from the bay - we left Walnut Creek 2 years ago to get out of that rat race & love life here in SLT but itching to move on & that's exactly what we are going to do - woo hoo!!  We are busy selling everything & looking at storage & mover options, we leave for LA on Friday night to pick up our "new to us" rig and drive it home!

I am an accountant & the hubby is an environmental consultant - our biggest challenge right now is figuring out how we are going to have successful internet connections to work!

Will definitely be checking out your "cocktail of the day" - post away!

Kev, thanks for the greeting. My wife has 3 years to her retirement (she's a teacher) so we'll do most of our RVing in the summers until then. After that, I'm trying to talk up the "let's sell the sticks and bricks and hit the road for a few years. We can always settle down later." We'll see what happens. She just might decide to hop on board.

Hi Kev,

I think you will be fine at Curry Hammock at 40'. Be sure to reserve well beforehand with Reserve America.com as they only have 28 campsites. (That's part of the awesomeness.) Also, I recently read that they are closing for some time in 2011 for repairs.

Also, be sure to have advance reservations for all of your nights in the keys. They are uber-strict about no boon docking in the keys, anywhere.

And, don't drive your RV into Key West if you plan to park because there is absolutely no RV parking allowed on public property in Key West. Period. (Unless you are under 20' long.) We found out the hard way and paid a $75 ticket today for doing a perfect parking job with our 23.5' Winne View.  Narrower than the SUV parked behind us.

The Keys are beautiful though. We stayed mainly around Marathon and long Pine Key. Be sure to go find the No Name Pub. They have great pizza and beer and the place a real unique stop. (On No Name Key.)

Thank you Kev,

I'm still trying to figure out all the ins/outs of the site.  I've already learned lots... although I'm hopeless with Twitter (I tried to follow along with some there).

I really appreciate the welcome.

Hi Kev,

It is good vodka, isn't it. I am an ex-Cisco employee - worked there from 91 to 94 and grew up in the south bay (Saratoga). Wish I had found this place a couple weeks ago so I could have made the short trip to Gonzales.

Thanks for the greeting.

Cheers,

Hi Kev!

Great to be here! Hopefully we'll cross paths down the road in the coming year. We'll be in CA for the New Year, a tradition we began this past year with some other Airstream pals.

Cheers!

Hi and thanks for the help today, still learning my way around.  Stumbling actually, but persistent!

Hi, and thanks for the welcome to the group!  I don't know how to reply to your comment; all I saw was a *delete* button, but no *reply* button.  Anyway, that picture was taken on Black Bear Pass in Colorado.  The city in the background is Telluride.  We descend down the mountain and into the city.  It's our favorite trail.

Thanks for the welcome.  I am a single traveler and get out about once a month for a few days and usually a couple of month long trips a year.  I live in Jacksonville Fl.  I hope to get to one of your meer ups in the near future.

Thanks for the welcome.  I am looking everywhere for good info sites.  Hope to be out there full time within 1 yr or less.

I am from east side of San Jose.  My son worked for F5 thats the closest I have been to Cisco.

Hello,
Thanks for the greeting!!  My husband and I have been fulltimers now for just about 2 years and would would not change a thing!  We are in Tonopah, AZ and will be going over to Quartsite for the RV show in a couple of weeks, if your still around maybe we could get together and say hello?  Looks like you have spent some time in Moab, UT that is where we will be heading at the end of February!

Hi Kev- thanks for the welcome!  Whenever we go anyplace farther than a couple hours away we take the coach.  We'd like to eventually do this full time, but are currently tethered for various reasons.  However, we are leaving for another jaunt to Florida, hopefully today!

Thanks for the welcome! Hope to share some of our stories and read more about yours.

Thanks for the warm welcome.  :)

This winter will definitely be an interesting change for us taking the brick and mortar office mobile to merge it with the forests.  Aircard, wifi router, netbooks, and all.

We're looking forward to finding out if it's easier to locate new land owners who are looking for quality forest management by going to them and getting leads throughout our travels
versus waiting for them to find us.  I'm not sure if we'll supplement with workamping, but at any rate we're up for an adventure and ready for the challenge.

Yes, Odin- the Norse God of wisdom and war, who thinks he's a lap dog.  :D  I think having him along this winter will be an interesting twist to trying to fit everything into the Lance truck camper.  I can't wait!!  :)

Welcome to the site! Your upcoming adventure sounds interesting. Your "office" sounds quite awesome - forests around the country! Looking forward to finding out more about it.

I LOVE your dog's name! Odin is such a noble name for a 107lb bulldog.

Glad to have you here!
